SALVATORE FERRAGAMO

Massimiliano Giornetti’s Ferragamo runway was all about simplicity and construction, but even more about coats. Did the Italian weather gods whisper in his ears that Milan was going to be this rainy and snowy during the show? I am not sure, but what I am pretty sure of is that every single attendee wanted to walk away with one of his strong coats immediately.

A double breasted short jacket in both navy wool and pinstripes were just right. Giornetti’s black leather coat with pony hair panels and details was just what I needed, not to mention the white alpaca outerwear that could keep anyone from freezing. The boots and bags are definitely worth a visit to the store when the collection hits shelves as well.

Conclusion, the superb outerwear and and well played accessories keep me from talking about the less striking items underneath.

FOOD IN MILAN

The one country where I would probably gain tons if I stayed too long must be Italy. During Fashion Week, there is little to no time to have dinner, so lots of fruits, cereal bars on the go and room service are inevitable. But in Milan you just have to sit down for proper food at least once – ok a few times.

MY TWO FAVORITES

God Save the Food, Via Tortona 34
This delicious lunch place is situated right around the corner of the Armani HQ and a lot of the showrooms in Milan, so it is the perfect location to grab have a sandwich or soup and a coffee in between running Fashion Week errands.

Mamma Oliva, Via Luisa Battistotti Sassi 11
The best fresh pizzas and pastas, yum.

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS, places that I did not have time to visit this time, but definitely want to try next time.

Just Cavalli Café, Viale Camoens c/o Torre Branca
Need I say more?

Chandelier, Via Broggi 17
They say this is one of Tom Ford’s favorites.

Il Gattopardo Café, Via Piero della Francesca 47
This is supposed to be the fanciest night club of Milan.

Kandoo Milano, Viale Corsica 38
The best sushi in town, for when you do not feel like pasta or pizza.

And if you are looking for a place to stay, TravelBird might be the easiest way to find a nice and affordable hotel.
