ANOTHER ONE

Just another jacket, from Style by Marina.

ANOTHER ONE

PINSTRIPED

Tags: , , , , ,

After a long and desperate hunt for that perfect pinstriped suit from Acne, I gave up and settled for a wide legged, not to mention way cheaper, version. Here is the jacket, currently hanging on one of my dining chairs as some sort of a trophy. Get it while it is hot, here (jacket) and here (pants).

The first thing I learned as a kid when I started to wear jewelry was to never mix the metals. I kicked off my love for jewelry at the age of around 7, when my mom – who worked at a jeweler at that time – took home that crazy scary pistol to pierce my ears. Tiny little gold hoops it was for years and years and two super thin golden rings to match. That was until I was old enough to go shopping on my own and found out there was much bigger jewelry available. The bigger the better! After experimenting with all kinds of colors and sizes of things to accessorize my fingers, wrists, ears and neck with, I came to the conclusion that less is kind of more. And also that it is ok – even cool – to mix the colors up. I now have a few things that I never take off (my earrings, two silver rings and a watch that changes from time to time) and add whatever I am in the mood for in the morning, regardless its color. Rings from Senesense (3D printed!), Cooee and Tiffany & Co, watch from Juicy Couture and bracelets I designed for Maison de Bonneterie.

EUDON CHOI

Do I really need to tell how much I am in love with this coat? Eudon Choi has seriously been climbing up my favorite designers list. I was wearing a coat from Eudon Choi and Antipodium pants (Young British Designers), a striped sweater from my boyfriend, Céline shoes and sunglasses from Rayban.

WHAT'S THE FUSS?

Now do not get me wrong, I love the new direction Humberto Leon and Carol Lim are taking with Kenzo and despite the fact that I would not buy one, I love their über popular sweaters. It is just that I am wondering, where does such commotion come from? How come this seasons Kenzo sweaters – along with the outer space Balenciaga sweaters and t-shirts – are so immensely popular? Does such thing happen right after the show? Right after the pictures pop up on Style.com? Is it because Kenzo has a new – not to mention super cool – design team? If that is the case, then how do we explain the Balenciaga hype? Is it because the label says Balenciaga? Or did it happen right after a few street style favorites (read Miroslava Duma) were spotted wearing them? Would the same have happened when they were from a less known brand or from a department store? I mean these sweaters do not come cheap. And I have seen tons of things that are equally awesome, but do not fly out of stores this quickly. I can not really point my finger on this phenomenon, as I would describe it, but I find it very intriguing. I wonder what it is going to be next season. Anyway, I will let you know when I find out…
