DEAD OR ALIVE

For the observant reader, I posted this picture before, on August 17th, 2011 to be precise. It came with the text ‘so not me, but oh so cool’. Now what I failed to understand back then was that over the years I would grow very (VERY!!) fond of them. Obviously now that they are sold out literally everywhere, I convinced myself I need them. You see, I always declared I am more a shorts than a skirt person. Fact is that I do love skirts, I just do not have the proper non-feminine shoe to make them more edgy, which is exactly how I want to wear skirts. I know these shoes are somehow all over the place (that is what happens when they are sold out in stores; they show up on the streets) since they appeared on the runway few years back, but I can not seem to get them out of my head. This is one of my very few desperate attempts I will do on my blog to find something that is probably impossible to find. So, is there anybody out there that can find me these in a size 38 (or something close to that size) – with either silver or mixed hardware? ps: Trust me, I have tried eBay, but I refuse to pay more than what they cost in stores. This could be a temporary refusal though. Found them, thank you so so much for all the links and suggestions! Picture by Lisa Galesloot.

AT FASHION WEEK

If it was not for the sake of Fashion Week, I would not have exchanged my boots for these heels on my way to the venue, but would be happily stomping around in my snow monsters instead. Coat, COS; Jacket and Sweater, H&M; Jeans, Paige; Shoes, Prada; Bag, Gérard Darel. Pictures by Liza Chloë van Duyn.

AT FASHION WEEK

CLAES IVERSEN

If there is one word that would describe the typical Claes Iversen collection best, it is feminine. Playing with proportions inspired by a bow that is falling apart is the latest thing he showed on the second day of Amsterdam Fashion Week. A thing that came in little color; beige (and one babyblue one) pantsuits with flared trousers, a crisp white flowy blouse – shirt is just not the right word to be used here – worn with a bright red hand embroidered skirt and black elegant long dresses with side splits up to you know where… A more than very welcome catwalk appearance in between the commercial violence happening the rest of the week.

SOFT PRINT

Currently obsessed with how all the crazy prints are slowly turning into things that are a bit more toned down, more soft. Just my cup of tea. Shirt, H&M Trend (in stores March 2013).

IN NARNIA

Ah, snow. And what to wear when the snow is falling down like the water does in Niagara Falls? Most of the time I can be busted in comfy sweaters, pj pants, a crazy beanie while shivering, but sometimes I like to ditch all of that – except for the crazy beanie – and dress a bit more fancy than that. If you notice anything different in these pictures, I did not color my hair, nor did I put on different make-up. It is the beanie, my boyfriend somehow managed to loose the fuzzy ball that used to be the cherry on the cake, uhm beanie. Oh, well. Coat, COS; Top, Samsøe & Samsøe; Trousers, Étoile by Isabel Marant; Shoes, Alexander Wang; Bag, Gérard Darel; Scarf and Hat, Marc Jacobs.

There are so many interesting details in this look, I can not just point out one. Tell me, what part do you like best?
