Fashion is everywhere

Back in New York I had the privilege to go backstage at some shows with Aveda. My day was made backstage at Aveda, when I got to sit down for a mini blow dry with one of the Aveda team members, and 3(!) people were mistaking me for a model. One of them even told me to get ready for the run through… Uhmm I am 170cm and quite old to be a model, but thank you very very much for stroking my ego like it’s never been stroked before.

A few days later, my day was made once again. I walked a few blocks from my hotel to the Aveda hair salon Fourteenjay, for a hair treatment and blow dry by the one and only Frank Rizzieri. As soon as I sat down in his chair, he asked me if I came in for just a blow dry, looking at me as if I obviously needed something else in my life. “Unless you have a really great other idea”, I replied to his expression. He told me that he would give me a bob, but when I told him I had been there, done that and that I wanted long and sexy and healthy hair again, he decided that I at least needed some extensions to give my thin coupe a little extra.

And so and hour and a half, 7 hair strings and a mini hair cut later, I walked out with literally hair goals. It seems like I have twice as much hair and while it takes some getting used to with washing and brushing, I wake up with my hair looking instantly awesome. Thank you Aveda and especially Frank for showing me all I need is a bit of extra hair and for probably making me want this for the rest of my life. Let’s see how it goes in 4 weeks from now (they last about 6 weeks, but you can reuse the hair) and these easily slide out with a bit of oil sprayed on them.

I know it’s not something to brag about, but does anyone have any experience with having extensions?

PS: Also thank you Eugene Souleiman for telling me I “don’t need hair with eyes like these” 😛
PPS: My treatment was sponsored, but I wasn’t paid to post about it.
