When I wrote about me starting the 5 Piece French Wardrobe regime again last week and about „basics not counting”, Amanda asked me what are the basics exactly? Good point. But before I dive into this, let’s change the name of this concept to just 5 Piece Wardrobe. Some of you rightfully suggested that we shouldn’t generalize a specific group of people and their style (plus not all French have a shopping habit that consists of only buying 5 new pieces a season) and that only makes sense. So from now on, 5 Piece Wardrobe it is. Anyway, back to the basics.WHAT ARE THE BASICS?
If you have been following afterDRK (and my style in particular) for a while, you probably know by now that I am pretty basic. I recently even threw out an extra 30% (I didn’t count, it is just a rough estimation) of my wardrobe – mainly to create more space in our apartment. Most of the items I got rid of were a little too loud for me, since on a daily basis I usually end up grabbing the more basic stuff. I mean I can wish to be whoever I want to be – style wise – but in the end I am just a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. As long as it is a really good t-shirt and a really good pair of jeans. Boring? I used to think so, but I have a few tricks up my sleeve to make it appear a little less so.B / HOW TO BE BASIC WITHOUT BEING BORING?
