STYLE TALK WITH LINN

Tags: , , , , ,

Way before anyone else, Stockholm based stylist and essentialist Linn Hägglund kept a fashion blog. After a few years of blogging, she said bye bye to her online personal platform and started focusing on her thus far very successful career as a stylist. She works for magazines such as Note Magazine and Elin Kling’s Styleby and for brands like Filippa K and Little Liffner. In short, Linn is one hell of a stylish lady. Time for a style talk.

SKIRTING IN NEW YORK

Tags: , , , , , ,

I was planning on biking throughout New York Fashion Week, but the day I wore this blue almost mermaid-esque skirt that obviously didn’t happen. I (in)conveniently got a flat tire the day before, so it was a good excuse to get this blue darling out on the street.

LONG STORY SHORTS

I can make this a super long story, but instead I am keeping it short for these shorts. I was looking for a pair of more decent looking shorts than the old vintage Levi’s pair that I had been wearing for ages and was literally falling apart (which is a good sign, because I obviously got enough wearing sessions out of it).

HOW TO WEAR CULOTTES?

Tags: , , , , , ,

It took me a while to get used to the shape and length of these pants, but lately I have been wearing them in a row/constantly/day after day. In Dutch we call them broekrokken, which can be freely translated to pantskirts. And after Googling just now I found out pantskirts is an official word too. Makes total sense, since it kind of really covers what culottes are all about. It’s a pair of pants, disguised as a skirt. Or a skirt, with the comfortableness of pants.

AUGUST EDITORS LETTER

If I had to pick one, August would probably be my favorite of months (even though it means summer is almost over), especially now that I am spending more than half of it in a Soho apartment in New York. I guess spending three months in Los Angeles last winter got my urge to travel tickling. So how did New York happen?

LUCK LOCKET

Tags: , , , ,

Woah, it’s full on summer in Amsterdam and even though I am sweating my *ss off some days trying to run too many errands in one day (or painting a boat, how random?) with 25 plus degrees, I couldn’t be happier.

RUCHED SKIRT

Tags: , , , , ,

Yep, that’s a skirt! A ruched skirt to be exact. It’s becoming a little less of a rare sight seeing me wearing a skirt and I am even eyeing a python printed yellow stunner (on sale!) at the moment. Oh, and an over the knee fluted hem skirt. Not sure if that’s going to happen though, since I have to find a way to justifiably squeeze (one of) them into my 5 Piece French Wardrobe system first.

SUMMER BLUE

I believe I mentioned it before, but every summer my go-to color (black, duh!) changes into blue. Navy blue that is. Not really your typical summer hue, but it feels just a hint bit fresher than black AND goes with everything (too). Easily lazy you could say, but for me – usually hooked on black – it’s always a big transformation. Especially when there’s not even a small trace of black to be spotted in the rest of my ensemble.
