I was planning on doing a huge New York Fashion Week diary and share all my photos in one single neverending post (would have been fun, wouldn’t it?), but I changed my mind right when I felt how cold it was. I knew that it would be impossible to take proper (and enough) photos outside and so I gave up and will save that for September. Not for Paris? Nope, New York was my one and only Fashion Week this season and while I feel pretty bummed about it – fomo (fear of missing out) alert! – I have a super good excuse and I will tell you all about it as soon as I can. Anyway, I Googled myself (yep, I did) and thought it would be fun to share some pictures – taken by the street style bunch that did brave the cold – of what I wore, apart from shoulder to ankle heat tech to stay warm.WHAT I WORE IN NEW YORK
And to think getting everyone a nice gift was stressful. What the * are we going to wear for the Holidays? I think I am going to keep things very very simple this year. All black. No fuss. To get in the right mood I teamed up with Winkelstraat.nl again to show you some of my favorite options for Christmas dinner and/or a New Year’s Eve wiggle with the hip while holding a glass of champagne (in both hands?). My rules for getting dressed for the Holidays this year?WHAT TO WEAR FOR THE HOLIDAYS?
When I bought this denim jacket a few months ago I would have never thought I’d wear it this much. At first I had my eyes on one that was a bit (read: WAY!) out of my price range. At least for a denim jacket and especially for something I didn’t think I was going to wear this much… And then I found the perfect one at Weekday. (In case Weekday doesn’t ring a bell, it’s a Swedish retail concept housing perfect Scandi basics with a twist.)GREY DAYS
I only realized this morning that all I packed for Paris is monochromatic stuff. It’s pretty much all my closet contains (I know), but it’s funny I packed one head to toe white outfit, one head to toe grey and then I stepped out in blue pleats yesterday morning, worn with a matching blue top and popping socks.BLUE PLEATS
It took me a while to get used to the shape and length of these pants, but lately I have been wearing them in a row/constantly/day after day. In Dutch we call them broekrokken, which can be freely translated to pantskirts. And after Googling just now I found out pantskirts is an official word too. Makes total sense, since it kind of really covers what culottes are all about. It’s a pair of pants, disguised as a skirt. Or a skirt, with the comfortableness of pants.HOW TO WEAR CULOTTES?
If I had to pick one, August would probably be my favorite of months (even though it means summer is almost over), especially now that I am spending more than half of it in a Soho apartment in New York. I guess spending three months in Los Angeles last winter got my urge to travel tickling. So how did New York happen?AUGUST EDITORS LETTER
Woah, the eagle – me – has landed in Venice and I have to say every time I come here, my mouth drops wide open (from admiration really) until I leave.IN VENICE
While I am slowly making progress to bring some excitement into my built-around-basics wardrobe – or at least learning to play around a bit again and have fun when going through my clothing rack and cupboard drawers – the rest of the fashion enthusiasts seem to turn normcore.6 REASONS TO OWN A STRIPED SHIRT
After a couple of days of full on showers it finally stopped raining in Amsterdam. Ugh. Looking at my ensemble, this so called Spring season could have easily be mistaken for Fall. Fuzzy sweaters, secret layers underneath and – ok then – a thin pair of trousers. Spring, where art thou? Sweater, H&M; Silk Pants, Isabel Marant [very old]; Shoes, Adidas [Stan Smith]; Bag, Kenzo.SPRING, WHERE ART THOU?
