As any true devotee of Mean Girls knows, on Wednesdays we wear pink. Now I haven’t been really wearing lots of pink on Wednesdays before, but it has been slowly making its entrance into my wardrobe.PINK!
Last week I went to Berlin for the second time for this super fun collaboration I did with Levi’s and their Lot700 collection. It all started with a few mirror selfies in their fitting room, trying all six different styles from the collection and asking my readers on Instagram to do the same and show me their favorite to be able to win a trip to Berlin with me for a photoshoot styled by me. Well, that photoshoot took place a few weeks ago with the stunning Lara Leijs (who Levi’s and I picked as a winner). I decided to keep things simple, studied her Instagram a bit so that I would be able to style her while still letting her feel like herself. Because I think feeling comfortable is one of the most important things when in front of a camera. And so we went for the 714 Straight and cut them off right above the ankle, a white Good Guys Wear Levi’s T-shirt, this oversized blazer that I love and her own ankle boots. Very relaxed, but cool. Seeing the final result hanging at Galerie Deschler last week, completely packed with a hip Berliner crowd kind of gave me goosebumps. Thank you Levi’s for letting me be a part of this super cool project and for letting me be stylist (instead of photographer) for a day, loved it! And thank you Lara for being the best model I could have wished for. A Levi’s guide to finally finding that perfect denim. And – if you dare to share – you can win a trip to Berlin with me in October!WHAT’S YOUR NUMBER?
Elinor Nystedt, Head of Creative Studio at the marketing department at Weekday, sure knows how to play with volumes, materials and (mostly muted) colors. When I first met her at an event in Amsterdam I was completely mesmerized by her awesome and super cool sense of style (sorry if I stared at you!) and – since we were visiting Stockholm anyway – I had to make sure to get to know all about her wardrobe secrets. If there’s one person in the entire world that I would instantly exchange wardrobes with…STYLE TALK WITH ELINOR
Way before anyone else, Stockholm based stylist and essentialist Linn Hägglund kept a fashion blog. After a few years of blogging, she said bye bye to her online personal platform and started focusing on her thus far very successful career as a stylist. She works for magazines such as Note Magazine and Elin Kling’s Styleby and for brands like Filippa K and Little Liffner. In short, Linn is one hell of a stylish lady. Time for a style talk.STYLE TALK WITH LINN
Whenever I need to start packing for a trip, I get some sort of panic attack. You see, packing the perfect suitcase is a true art. It takes tons of practice not to overpack and to bring only the ultimate essentials. (Remember I did quite well for three months of Los Angeles?) I do feel like I am slowly getting the hang of it, so here’s three completely different suitcases packed for their destinations.THE ART OF PACKING
It seems like I have caught the DIY flu. After that beaded boyfriend denim I got inspired by the Dries van Noten Fall 2012 Menswear show (this look to be exact (seriously if I was a man I would want to wear Dries head to toe, always)) to do another little creative something with denim and Levi’s. This time I opted for painted denim. Painted denim sleeves on a classic white trucker jacket to be exact.DIY PAINTED DENIM
It’s been a while since I last DIY’d and even though it always makes me feel like I am back in kindergarten, I do like to get all crafty every once in a while. I love how it automatically adds a little something extra, that personal touch that often makes an outfit. And so I thought it would be fun to share what I recently did with my Levi’s 501 CT – one of the uncountable amounts of boyfriend jeans that I own – when I got asked to customize them. After Googling for possibilities and to get my creative juices flowing, I bumped into one too many tips and tricks on shredding (which is obviously an art, hence the amount of DIY’s to be found about them) and decided to go for something completely different. And so I went for beaded cuffs.DIY BEADED DENIM
Fashion month is over and while I am – again and basically always – trying to get my wardrobe contents to a minimum of things I love (love as in truly love, as if I just bought them minutes ago), I am dipping myself in head to toe timeless classics.FOREVER CLASSICS
