COCO CHANEL'S APARTMENT

Apart from going to my very first Chanel show during Paris Fashion Week, I also had the privilege to step inside Coco Chanel’s apartment. What I loved about it most was all the hundreds of thousands of little details that all seemed to have a special meaning or story behind them. It’s kind of magical, really.

IN PARIS

With the help of my awesome co-pilot Charlotte, I drove another 600+ kilometers to arrive at Place Vendôme in Paris, where we’d parked all of our cars last night. Getting into Paris with 35 red cars (and all women driving them! Ha!) was not the easiest – not even in a convoy – but it sure got all the attention.

WAKING UP IN PARIS

No no no, we are not in Paris again! These shots were taken right after Waking up in Paris on our very last morning in our temporary apartment in the 16th arrondissement that was just too beautiful to not use it as a background for one of my ‘editorial’ try outs. And what better subject than my Fashion Week partner Anna and her neverending story of hair? As some of your might have noticed, I am concentrating more on photography and a bit less on ‘me’ around here. For the ones that come here to see what I am wearing, don’t worry, I will keep posting images of what I wear on a regular basis (hopefully in a more creative way than just snaps on the go). It is just that I feel like it is time to develop what I am really truly passionate about and that is photography. I am still kind of a rookie when it comes to creating imaginary stories – these shots are all taken without any proper lighting (just natural light) – but I thought it would be fun to take you on my photography journey of trial and error (isn’t that the best way to learn?). Thank you friends of TravelBird for letting us stay in your utterly gorgeous private home.

FIRST OF THE FIVE

It is official, my 5 piece French wardrobe game is on and the first of my five buys (counting from September 1st to February 28th (no it is not going to be easy, but definitely worth trying!)) is this leather jacket from Acne. It is their all-time classic piece and even though it is +24 degrees outside in Paris, I haven’t taken it off since I bought it two days ago. Who said leather is not seasonless? Now if I would want to cheat, I could file this under ‘basics that don’t count’, since a leather jacket is obviously an investment piece that lasts literally for ages. I mean, this gives any item that is already in my closet an instant update. Buttt since I do really want to stay in the game this time, plus I can not justify anything in this price range, let’s count. 1 down, 4 to go. Leather Jacket, Acne; T-Shirt, American Apparel; Jeans, Acne; Shoes, Kurt Geiger; Bag, Kurt Geiger. Pictures by Anna Nooshin.
