PINK!

As any true devotee of Mean Girls knows, on Wednesdays we wear pink. Now I haven’t been really wearing lots of pink on Wednesdays before, but it has been slowly making its entrance into my wardrobe.

STYLE TALK WITH ELINOR

Elinor Nystedt, Head of Creative Studio at the marketing department at Weekday, sure knows how to play with volumes, materials and (mostly muted) colors. When I first met her at an event in Amsterdam I was completely mesmerized by her awesome and super cool sense of style (sorry if I stared at you!) and – since we were visiting Stockholm anyway – I had to make sure to get to know all about her wardrobe secrets. If there’s one person in the entire world that I would instantly exchange wardrobes with…

10 TIPS FOR OUTLET SHOPPING

Is there anything in life that feels as rewarding as buying a Prada coat for €100,-? This might sound a little shallow, but it’s a hell no for me. Sadly enough Sabrina doesn’t really know this sensation all that well – she gets confused by discount tags, feels overwhelmed when entering stores during sale time and always falls in love with new season stuff (with matching new season price tags!). I on the other hand, feel like a kid in a candy store when placed next to racks that say -70% or even better, outlets. At this point I would even dare to call myself an expert in discount shopping. So that’s why I took matters in my own hands and decided to take Sabrina (and thus: you!) on an outlet shopping spree. And where better to do this then in the best outlet centre in our tiny country: Designer Outlet Roermond?! They carry everything you need for a guaranteed day of unlimited discount fun. A Prada walhalla? Check! Humongous Burberry store? Check! A Dolce & Gabbana store stuffed with goods? Check check check! And soon there will be a Coach (19th of June) and L’Oréal (24th of June) store added to the list. A few simple rules and guidelines will make this the most pleasurable and fruitful shopping spree of your life – read and learn.

STYLE TALK WITH ULRIKA

Ulrika Lundgren is the power woman behind Rika, one of our absolute favorite labels and part of our Bermuda Triangle (one of the three stores in Amsterdam we can hardly leave without buying something). The Swedish-born designer has impeccable taste herself and mixes timeless feminine and rock and roll pieces with a hint of the Scandinavian simplicity we love so much. Time for a little peek into her wardrobe and a chat about the Rika aesthetic.

NEW YORK SCORE!

At the very coldest day during New York Fashion Week – the one day I had no shows or presentations, nor did I have any other plans – one of my friends came up with the fantastic idea to go outlet shopping at Woodbury (located at an hour drive from Manhattan) and I immediately said ‚yes’. I had heard so many good stories (Prada shoes at 90% off, Stella dresses for little over $100,- and a Céline store) that I had to give it a shot. Because hello(!), music to my ears. I have to admit that when I got dropped off at the food area, all I could think of was ‘can someone please get me out of here?!’. I was one of the first to arrive there that morning and the food hall looked so miserably sad that I almost wanted to jump straight back on the bus, back to civilization. When my partner in crime arrived – she came from the other side of Manhattan, hence why we took a different bus – we manned up and came up with a survival plan (Barneys first, then Céline and so on and so on) for this war zone.

EDITOR’S NOTE, PAS DE PARIS

It feels a bit strange that I won’t be in Paris for Fashion Week this season, I have to admit. I wasn’t in London or Milan either and while I am super bummed about it, trust me when I say my reason of embracing my fomo for once is super legit. And I am sorry for teasing, it’s something I won’t be able to share just yet. But hey, at least I went to New York! Not completely sure if that was the best choice weather wise, since the first thing I say when people ask me ‘how was New York?’ is ‘Cold!!!’. I did get to see some amazing shows and I am feeling quite inspired for the new season. Which by the way – according to the weather report – is unofficially starting next week. Plus, I got to spend some time with friends that I don’t get to see all the time. But let’s talk about our wardrobes and the new season, Spring!

SUMMER BLUE

I believe I mentioned it before, but every summer my go-to color (black, duh!) changes into blue. Navy blue that is. Not really your typical summer hue, but it feels just a hint bit fresher than black AND goes with everything (too). Easily lazy you could say, but for me – usually hooked on black – it’s always a big transformation. Especially when there’s not even a small trace of black to be spotted in the rest of my ensemble.
