“A Valentino girl is always very classic and already beautiful. All we do is make her look even prettier, which means the look is very simple and looks natural”, said Pat McGrath backstage while perfecting one of the models.

The look, inspired by Vermeer’s Girl With a Pearl Earring, was all about flawless skin (worked to perfection with the new whipped cream foundation from Max Factor if anyone was wondering), perfect eyebrows, gorgeous lips and a tiny dash of blush, all toned down by layering with foundation. The roots of the lashes got a swipe of brown mascara, a look that any girl wishes to wake up to in the morning.

To complement the natural and classic make-up, all models got extensions to create a thick side braid to be worn with silk black headbands.

Wigs cut off backstage just minutes before the show after putting them on the models covered a beautiful make-up base and a bright red lip at AF Vandevorst.

At Isabel Marant, make-up genius Tom Pecheux came up with a very subtle and transparent look containing a thin metallic grey eyeshadow. “Just to make the eyes look brighter than they already are”, said Pecheux. The skin (foundation/base) seems to be the most important part at most shows this season. “No mascara, because that would have looked too ‘made up’”, he added.

Val Garland created a dark smokey eighties eye on a pale skin for the Roland Mouret show during Paris Fashion Week and added a subtle raspberry colored gloss on the middle part of the lips. Gorgeous!
