What better way to kick off the first half of a fresh literally love-able month – hello February! – with a new editorial? You Smiled Because You Knew (c/o Arrigo Boito, made more known by Shakespeare), inspired by Valentine’s Day, but without the heart shaped balloons and personalized chocolates. Because all we réally need are silk pj-like trousers, complicated bra tops and soft striped men’s style cardigans…

How fabuleux is Maggie Mauer in this editorial by Julia Hetta for Numéro November 2013? The styling is right on the edge of the unwearable (those super long sleeves do nót come in handy for the average 9 to 6 job, haha). But it is oh so beautiful. While the rest of ‘Gémeaux’ was about the fine lines between women’s and men’s clothing and Maggie only plays half of the astrological twins in this, this one photo stood out to me most. The shapes, the volumes, the colors. And the shoes, the shoes!
Full editorial to be found in Numéro November 2013.

No no no, we are not in Paris again!
These shots were taken right after Waking up in Paris on our very last morning in our temporary apartment in the 16th arrondissement that was just too beautiful to not use it as a background for one of my ‘editorial’ try outs.
And what better subject than my Fashion Week partner Anna and her neverending story of hair?
As some of your might have noticed, I am concentrating more on photography and a bit less on ‘me’ around here. For the ones that come here to see what I am wearing, don’t worry, I will keep posting images of what I wear on a regular basis (hopefully in a more creative way than just snaps on the go). It is just that I feel like it is time to develop what I am really truly passionate about and that is photography.
I am still kind of a rookie when it comes to creating imaginary stories – these shots are all taken without any proper lighting (just natural light) – but I thought it would be fun to take you on my photography journey of trial and error (isn’t that the best way to learn?).
Thank you friends of TravelBird for letting us stay in your utterly gorgeous private home.

Ever since the launch of Dutch Vogue back in March, I am a loyal buyer. Subscriptions are not my cup of tea, but I am a faithful white cover collector. I have to admit I do not read it cover to cover – I am skipping most of the interviews unless they are with people I already found interesting – but I definitely have my favorite spread each and every issue.
This time (November issue), it is one of the spreads from the ‘Oneindig Schier’ editorial about the new silhouette, starring Mirte Maas, styled by Dimphy den Otter and photographed by Annemarieke van Drimmelen.
It is just beautiful.
