Smiling on a picture, it only happens every once in a while that I publish one of those. It is not because I go through life looking grumpy all the time and it is not because I would not know (almost) everyone likes the view of a happy person. Trust me, I know. Trust me again, I am a very happy person. You should know that I take more than three pictures to post on the blog for each and every kind of post and I usually see a lot of smiling ones when I go through the film.
It is just that I feel kind of ‘exposed’ posting smiling pictures, which is weird coming from someone that struts her stuff on the internet over three times a week, but I do. Also, I have these dimples – one bigger than the other – that I am told are very very cute, but I seem to still be stuck in some kind of early teens behavior, given that I do not want to be called ‘cute’ all the time. And then there is this magic millisecond of a smile that I believe is the one perfect millisecond that is so hard to capture. Almost never happens.

So, apart from having style related resolutions, every year I secretly write down a few that have to do with health. You know, try a green smoothie every now and then, avoid the pizza section in my supermarket…
One of them is to run at least twice a week – yes these shoes are also used for what they are meant to be used for. Not very original, since the Amsterdam Vondelpark is always extra crowded in January, when everyone tries to run off those extra Christmas/NYE pounds. Back in the days (read: 1,5 year ago), when I could barely make it to the first bus stop, I used to come up with all kinds of excuses just to not have to put on that running suit. I always had all kinds of other things to do, had deadlines to finish and when I got lucky it was raining (if that is even an excuse). Now that I am completely decked out in this Nike winter gear, there is not more excuses. “Unless you need to vomit, faint or die, keep on going.” Right?
What I am starting to like (love is too big of a word to be used here) about running is that apart from keeping me fit, it also helps me clear my mind. And it only takes about 30 minutes to run a proper amount of km.

Just when I was hoping not yet to give up my hopes for an Indian summer, we skipped fall and went straight to winter? I would be lying if I would tell you that I am not a little bummed about it. I mean it is ok not being able to enjoy that rare Indian summer, but I am a sucker for fall, since it is my favorite season getting-dressed-wise after all. Fall is the perfect season to be exploring stores for winter gear, without making any decisions yet. It is perfect for in between clothes, mixing summer stuff with last years winter sweaters.
Me, not wearing socks in these pictures is just my stubborn self still hoping to get my ankles tanned?
Well, I guess I have to run and buy some turtlenecks…

These photos were obviously taken yesterday, wearing the simplest of all simpleness and the comfiest of all comfiness (that is probably not correct English, but you get the point) to pick up this giant bag filled with clothes for me to wear in the big apple. I am hopping on an airplane straight to Fashion Week madness in a few hours and I can not quite decide what I am most excited about. Watching the shows, seeing the fashionpack again or just being in that awesome city.
Oh and as requested, a better picture of my Nikes.
I was wearing a COS top, Étoile by Isabel Marant pants and shoes from Nike.
