After spending four perfect days on Gran Canaria, I am back home in Amsterdam for a few days before I leave again. At first I thought this island would be similar to Ibiza in terms of nature and architecture, but I was wrong. It is completely different – which is kind of logical concerning the islands are not exactly swim distance away from each other – and both have their very own beauty.
Even though I only got to spend four days in Gran Canaria, I got to see a few of its little gems. My very favorite was the old town of Agüimes, a super colorful little place with an amazing amount of workplaces to discover.
Also, what better place to finally try wearing a cropped top than a place where nobody really knows me, Maspalomas in Gran Canaria?
You might have noticed I have been wearing the same pair of jeans for the whole weekend in Paris. I put them on right before I jumped on the train heading south and – apart from sleeping in my pajamas – never really took them off until I got back home in Amsterdam.
I usually wear jeans that are a bit more loose (like these ones I always wear), but then sometimes an outfit looks better with a more fitted pair. The thing is though, they never really stay ‘fitted’, unless you buy those jeans leggings without pockets and zippers or anything, but those are just not ok.
Finding a pair of jeans that is the right color, has the right fit and then an ok price is like finding a needle in a haystack. For most women it is just a pain in the *ss. I sometimes go on what I call a denim scouting expedition, try on over 20 pairs of jeans just to find the perfect one and then come home empty handed.
Anyway, I bumped into the Skinzee jeans from Diesel the other day and decided to give them a try, see if they too get saggy at the knees after wearing them. After a full weekend of shopping and sitting down for coffees in between in Paris, they are still the same.
Excuse me for stepping out in what look like bathroom slippers in these pictures, but they are actually the really cool leather perforated shoes I blogged about yesterday. They do feel like bathroom slippers though, comfy as they are. And comfy is exactly how I want to dress after a month of Fashion Week madness, which usually comes with blisters et all.
